Several rocketeers have enquired with regard the new Blue Tubes. With the recent reduction in price we believe they will become a very viable alternative to the traditional phenolic and paper tubes.

Fully cured phenolic is very strong and very stiff, but is very brittle. So, to adapt to the needs of the HPR community, non brittle phenolic was introduced. Non brittle phenolic is identical to regular phenolic but just not cured as long in the oven. The problem is you then have a product that is not as brittle but not as strong as fully cured phenolic.

Blue tube almost has the compression strength of fully cured phenolic but without the brittleness, however it is slightly heavier.

Airframe and couplers are now on order from the manufacturer and should be here in a couple of weeks.
